Emily Barr lives in the area with her two adorable boys, Ethan and Owen. Together, they love to build with legos, bake cookies, wrestle, and tell jokes. Marcia Beer serves Edgewood as Youth Ministry Coordinator and Youth Music Director. An Edgewood Member for over 32 years, Marcia enjoys leading Service/Learning trips, teaching church school, supporting the youth teaching team, directing and singing in choirs, and integrating our children and youth into Edgewood worship and activities. Monty Bieber is a native of South Dakota who came to Michigan State in 1969 to study journalism, a field he quickly abandoned for a degree in Music Education. He studied choral conducting under Dr. Robert Harris and sang with the Edgewood choir during his college years. Amanda/Kal Kennedy has been on staff at Edgewood since 2010. They became the coordinator for the childcare program in 2012. Before joining Edgewood, Amanda worked as a dance instructor for seven years at Living Arts dance studio, and was also the play and musical director for Mason High School for eight years. Farid has 18 years of experience in planning, directing, organizing, monitoring and managing all aspects and activities of small and large scale construction and civil projects from the beginning to completion, along with a Masters degree in civil engineering from Western Michigan University. He has a great desire to utilize his practical experience and academic degree to keep the Edgewood facilities in shape.
Elizabeth Clarke began working as one of Edgewood’s organists in 2017. She enjoys sharing service music with the congregation and accompanying the friendly and ever-supportive choir. When she is not playing at Edgewood, she is busy completing two degrees at MSU: a doctorate in piano performance and a masters in music theory. Outside of music, she enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring new places.
I have had the joy of sharing the position of church organist at Edgewood since 2004. Edgewood is also my church home. I have a degree in Music Ed. from Oakland University. My passions are music, flower gardening, reading, volunteering, traveling, and my wonderful family.
Bell Choir Director
JoAnn began playing handbells in the 1950s and has been directing handbell choirs at Edgewood since 1987. She also sings in the choir and the women’s a cappella ensemble, and serves on several church committees. JoAnn is a former special education teacher.
